Snowman Handmade Fused Glass Christmas Tree Ornament

This one of a kind ornament was made by me in my Loveland, Colorado glass studio.

Measurements: About 4 inches tall by 1 1/2 inches wide, not including the hanging string. 

A background of hand cast glass blending clear and ivory fused with white, aventurine (sparkly) black and dichroic glass creates a piece with a lot of depth and interest. The details are hand painted.

How it's made. After cutting and assembling the parts until they were just right, the piece was fused by slowly heating to 1375 degrees "fusing" the glass into one piece. Then it's annealed for strength and brought back to room temperature. This process takes about a day.
